My Favorite Korean Movie


ROARING CURRENTS, 2014 (명량)


  This movie is about Battle of Myeongnyang in Japanese Invasion of Korea. And main character is General Lee who led navy of Korea in Joseon Age.




  I watched this movie when I was grade 8 in Movie Theater. In that time, I hated most of movies about only history. Because it was always so serious. But, I watched this movie so interestingly, and it was first time to feel fun in history movie. This movie was so serious, however, It rather made this movie look good. Battle of Myeongnyang was known that General Lee won the Japanese by boat 12 : 330. It is too amazing to believe but it is real true.


 I would like to recommend "Roaring Currents" to people of other countries to get knowledge about Korean history. And also to people who do not know well about Korean history although they are Koreans, I want to recommend this movie.

Why I choose HUMMS?

  HUMMS is a strand about Humanities and Social Sciences. It is learned by senior high school student who are in grade 11 or 12. There are different subjects of other strands like DISS(discipline and ideas in social science), Religion, and Creative Writing .   Before I choose HUMMS, I already heard that this strand is too difficult to get high score and do homework. But I decided to choose this strand, because I was interesting in literature or psychology. And this strand was teaching about literature, social science, and religion, not about science, not about mathematics.   And now, I am satisfied in HUMMS. Although there are many difficult homework and it is too hard to understand and remember subjects of this strand, I think this strand is very good, because it make our skill of literature developed.
